Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action – Digital Hub Initiative
How do you build a strong network for digital innovation in Germany?
The Challenge
The establishment, development and marketing of a national digital ecosystem consisting of 12 digital hubs throughout Germany.
The Solution
We support the hubs in developing their individual business models and innovation programs and bring together start-ups, science and established companies under the de:hub brand.
Connect to innovate
Germany takes on a challenge – at least digitally: Within the Digital Hub Initiative, flexibility and innovation converge with established structure. In April 2021, we are showcasing five of the Digital Hub Initiative’s collaborations between start-ups and corporations which explored the intersection of different corporate cultures. Each project is featured through a highlight clip on the campaign’s website, which documents the challenges, the solutions, and the progress made for both sides. During the campaign, we also promoted the potential for start-ups and SMEs to collaborate and drive breakthrough innovations together.
Twelve Hubs, one digital Network
As the Hub Agency of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, we connect twelve digital hubs with different industry focal points. At the same time, together with the GTAI, we communicate Germany’s advantages as a location for international start-ups to the outside world. Through de:hub, RCKT has created an umbrella brand that is brought to life through measures such as its own website, a monthly podcast, social media channels, a variety of events, and continuous press work.
Future, made in Germany
Silicon Valley is the prototype of a successful ecosystem in the digital world economy. But what can a federalist country like Germany do to ensure digital success? Well, there are young start-ups and traditional world market leaders all over the country – so it’s time to start thinking of Germany as an ecosystem!
